Major Appeal for Prayers
Updates from Fr. Ivan Kolodiy
in Ukraine: Sent July 29 From Fr. Ivan Kolodiy in Ukraine
Dear Patti, all the wires you are sending are coming to us very well. And I want to share that the many boxes mailed to us with Rosaries, MM’s and Scapulars, Holy Face medals and holy oils, reach us and give us great joy and strength. Things are improving in our country. In our area everything is quite normal. We have conducted a retreat with the youth. Many attended. We ask Our Lady to protect our family of the Living Rosary and each one of your families there. All the Ukrainian people are united in supporting our army who still are fighting in the southern boarders and dying to secure liberty and freedom for Ukraine. Thank you for the support you give me and all our poor priests through the Mass stipends. It is a great help for us to survive these very difficult times. We ask God to shower upon you abundant blessings, protection and health. Fr. Ivan Kolodiy
An update from note to Sheila on June 20th, 2022 Dear Sheila and Patti, Thank you for your wire of funds for our priests to offer the Masses you have requested. When I receive the Mass stipends I gather the priests, assign the Masses and give them the stipends. All the Sacred Masses have been arranged and the stipends distributed. I try to do this quickly due to the needs of all our members. When you send me the names of those benefactors who have made donations for our work and Ukraine, we place them on a list and remember them every day during the Sacred Liturgies and devotions held in the evening. The Rosaries, medals and Scapulars are received safely and distributed among the faithful and sent to the war zones on the boarder. Many soldiers are perishing. Please pray for them and their families. You can always rely on me for help and prayers. I impart to all of you my priestly blessing. Fr. Ivan Kolodiy Received June 3, 2022 at
7:53AM (CDT) Dear Mrs Patti. Sorry for the delay in my response yesterday as it was the great feast of the Ascension of Jesus Christ. We are so grateful for your care and support of the Living Rosary, constant and powerful! At the present time we are very anxious to obtain the victory over Russian military, but this is one of the most difficult psychological times in the war because everyone is wanting fast results. The war is very complicated and difficult. Thanks be to God the Ukrainian military gain new territories each day, but there are many residents in Ukraine who are suffering tremendous losses. There is still so much work to be done. The Center of the Living Rosary is preparing the Calendar for 2023 and a book of prayers and words of encouragement which you sent to me. This will be a Consolation for us during the war. Many wounded people from the war zones come to the hospitals of Lviv. The refugees are going back to their houses which the Ukrainian army freed up so there is much progress. Everyone continues to pray without ceasing in hope for the strong intervention of God and His Holy Mother! We stand In your debt and urge you to continue your prayers and support for our people, war torn and exhausted..
I extend to you my priestly blessing and heartfelt thanks. Fr. Ivan Kolodiy

Mission of this Apostlate
Universal Living Rosary Association
"The aim of the Living
Rosary is to ask God, through the
intercession of
Our Lady of the Rosary, for the
conservation of the Faith in Catholic
countries, the conversion of sinners,
the strengthening of the just, and the exaltation of the Holy Church. The people who join together for this pious
exercise, divide among themselves the
recitation of the prayers of the entire
Rosary, and divide into groups of 15, in
honor of the 15 principal mysteries of our redemption. Their intention is to
form, by the union of their hearts, as so many living rosaries which unceasingly
recall to the Celestial Father the sign of salvation manifested to
St. Dominic by the Mother of Mercies.
After Our Lady
of the Rosary, the Association recognizes and honors as its mediatrix
before God, the illustrious Virgin and Martyr,
St. Philomena, named by the
Sovereign Pontiff,
protectress of the Living
Rosary."
Everything that happens occurs for a reason. It was no accident that God
chose the soul of the
Venerable Pauline Marie Jaricot to form the
Universal Living Rosary Association
for the triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary and in honor of
Saint Philomena. Each of us is called to serve God
and it is no accident that you are being called to help further this sacred
mission.
We know that all things work for good for those who love God, who are
called according to his purpose. Pauline, a young and very pious French girl, dedicated herself to the heart
and love of Jesus and gave the Church one of the greatest works when she founded
the
Society for the Propagation
of the Faith missionary work and the
Association of
the Living Rosary. Her immense desire to love and her thirst
to possess God inspired her to act for His Glory.
Jesus died for all men! Why weaken our hearts with less noble
desires? The Living Rosary Association was
Pauline’s inspired plan to save the
Church in France and encourage everyone to learn
their faith through Catholic books. The association began its devotion of
distributing
fifteen decades of the
Rosary to fifteen persons in several parishes on Dec. 8, 1826. The
association was formally approved by
Pope Gregory XVI and accorded
canonical status on Jan. 27, 1832. On Dec. 8, 1986, Richard and Patricia Joann Melvin, married more than 30
years, began a revival of
Pauline Jaricot’s Living
Rosary lay apostolate in an effort to honor Our Blessed Mother and
St. Philomena. What originated with less than 30
people dedicated to praying a daily decade of the
Rosary has grown to more than 11 million devoted Christians around the
world, all praying their
dedicated decades of the
Rosary each day of every year.
Today, over 12 million
souls,
faithful servants, are joined worldwide through the Living Rosary
and united with Mary in prayer one decade at a time to hasten the triumph of
Her Immaculate Heart and to bring about the Reign of Jesus Christ the King. For centuries, our cherished Catholic faith has been passed from
person to person, parent to child, etc. Each of us carries in our heart a
special memory of how God first graced us with the knowledge of the faith and
how Our Blessed Mother, Saint Philomena, Venerable Pauline Jaricot and
other saints changed our lives and brought us closer to Christ.
In our work in the Universal Living Rosary Association, we see first hand
how millions of souls are currently living without that knowledge of God and are
living outside of His grace. We have been given a beautiful opportunity to carry
out Christ's work and pass on our faith and blessings to others who would
otherwise never be introduced to Our Lord, the Savior of all mankind. Just as we
pray for the souls in Purgatory who have no one to pray for them, we should also
make it a part of our life's mission to pass on our faith to as many souls as
possible who have no one else to pass it on to them, who don't know Our Lord and
His promise of salvation.
This is the box we send to the Foreign Missions,
on your behalf. You donate the shipping, which is now: $112. It contains
Rosaries, Scapulars, Miraculous Medals, Cord & Oil,
Newsletters, Calendars, Catechism books, 2 TAN books, large color prints, lists
and encouragement for our Promoters. Pope Leo XIII said, "There is
nothing more excellent than that numerous voices pray without interruption from
all parts of the world, simultaneously lifting up supplications to the Blessed
Virgin Mary as they meditate on the mysteries of the Holy
Rosary."
Say the Rosary every day, to obtain peace for the world. The Living Rosary is a
continuation of the Rosary
given to
St. Dominic by Our Blessed Mother while he was
combating the Albigensian heresy in the South of France during the thirteenth
century. Our Blessed Mother asked
St. Dominic to spread devotion to Christ by saying
the Rosary and meditating on
the life of Christ, each and every day.

The Mission of the Universal Living Rosary Association:
May Christ dwell in our hearts through faith, and may charity be the root and foundation of our life.
– cf. Eph 3:17
Following the example of the Venerable Pauline Jaricot, who founded the work of "a penny a week" for the Propagation of the Faith, you and your family may also consider dedicating monetary support equivalent to a meal a month or other offering to the Living Rosary.
The majority of the members of the Living Rosary are in third world countries. Every donation received goes directly back into this universal and heroic missionary effort through the distribution of Catholic literature, holy cards and sacramentals such as the holy oil of St. Philomena.
Universal Living Rosary Association of Saint Philomena is a nonprofit Corporation 501(c)(3) charitable organization and as such we automatically give "Tax Receipts" to all those who make a financial donation. For those who donate $100 or more, a "TRIDUUM of MASSES" will be arranged for the donor and his/her family. Thirty dollars of every $100 donated supports the missionary who will offer these masses. Through your help, the prayers of the missions will continue to work miracles in the lives of all of its members and families, thus strengthening the Mystical Body of Christ.
Another option is to donate $50 to cover the flat rate to send a parcel of materials and sacramentals to the missions abroad. God bless you for your generosity.
Please support the missions by donating Rosaries, Scapulars, old missals,
medals, holy cards to the missions-nothing goes to waste and all is placed
carefully with a reliable catechist or missionary : send to
