Past Missionary News From Around the World, February 2009

Dear Patti,

We are indebted to you for the great work you are doing thanks for caring for the poor! Mother Teresa said that the greatest poverty of our time is that of not knowing Christ! This is what you exactly fight; by sending your emissary (Emma) here it is of so much significant, you expose us to the Word of God! because we don’t only listen to what Emma tells but himself a living gospel to us during his first visits here, people used to mock him, call him no man because he neither smokes nor drinks, neither is he interested in luxury! The same people, including me are now saying that he is better than most of our priests.

Had he packed to leave us than a note from Darfur came to him, about the genocide committed by Islamists! He will be leaving for Rumbeck tomorrow morning to peruse a flight to the Tambura.

We will miss him.

Dear Patti,

This is puts us in fix! Reaching this soldier, involves airlifting the medals from here to EL Fasher in central Darfur through tactical means! We can do it but it cost us about $500. Why? Must pay the Kenyan UN pilot, because what we are to involve him with is not part of his assigned work, and he must work out box delivery through the ISLAMISTS controlled EL Fasher airport at some cost.

This is what I have been hearing here that some people go around this way. Last week a priest I told you of, from Abyei told me that Islamists there are also now interested in money, if you give him something, and you know the Arabic well, he will leave you. So I agree that we can deliver, I can use all tactics because now I grow experience by the day but WILL YOU NOT BE DRAINED MORE FINANCIALLY?????????

The Catholic soldier she talks of is not here he is at the base near EL Fasher. Do your best, if you tell me you can then I start working out the way until the medals arrive, and it means dear Patti, they have to go off today! Not so? My days of being in Sudan are thinning, this time I will also use my week of grace and finish, I am supposed to leave by 8th but will use that week of grace and leave on13th.

As you say regularly, "DO WHATEVER YOU CAN WHEN YOU ARE THERE" I propose that if you can raise that that amount, then airlift the boxes so that we send them to where they are most needed. No time for tomorrow, we do everything today because satan is roaring, 4th March for possible inditement of Sudan president is seen as return to extensive turmoil, so if we can do something to save the situation, then do it.

God Bless

Dear Madam Patti,

Have been favor to write you here in Darfur were we return after janjaweed attack our camps and kill many and now to stay in camp is more dangerous than in out where you can hide from the Islamists that are fight for "God" killing us say that we "cafri" they kill us and say go to heaven (jana). In recent times we see a lot of motion burning of village is increase. And world is see us call only "resolutions" we know when the resolutions work.

Now as write there are attacks, Islamists supported by the government in Khartoum of president Bashir are attack more now every day since it rumored that on 4th March the ICC, international court of justice in Hague is like to supply arrest warrant for him because of genocide in Darfur our land, we meet many people no more, killed. Good that Christians who persecuted are curling together and console each one to wait the day to be killed by Islam janjaweed.

We have hope dash when we told that Emmanuel will leave away and he has few days in Wau! Ohhh! How he leaves us, abandon us? We thought he would help airlift us some MM treasure to help protect us, all those who have them are happy at least they feel protect wait to be slaughtered or shoot by government militalia. We can’t reach Emmanuel we very far from Wau but a UN soldier, a Catholic from Rwanda told us that if Emma can pay the costs and give the medals they can help us in a camouflaged way because Islamists are so bad indeed can burn the medals when see them. Help us to protect our self before EMMANUEL go to Uganda we knell before here in sand and heat. Whole world forget us we remain in you thought only.HAA! Another attack we hear, MOTHER MARY OF SORROW IS ONLY ONE TO HELP US. We don’t know what happen until 4th Mar. and we told that it will be most dangerous if Bashir is called to international court!

Our mother, we stand you, let Emma find way send us MM through this danger coming, don’t leave us, tell him to wait to transfer MM to us and them go safe to Uganda.

Dear Patti,

Greetings!

Work is OK this way. I have lists to post as I am working around the clock to expand my outreach. We had colorful celebrations of 130 years of the arrival of the first Catholic missionaries in Uganda. The Archbishop of Kampala assisted by his auxiliary and Bishop of Masaka and white fathers with many priests celebrated the mass. I had the biggest disappointment when my camera took only four photos and jammed! You would have seen the function in photos. But satan cannot win. We have started our Lenten season with zeal. Please send Lenten messages to read on Radio Maria. Devotees want Philomena cords and oils. Please send in a good number.

Financial report-Bank: charges-$10,Office-$50,Photos-$30,Net-$30,Phone-$40,Postage-$30,Travels$10.Total-$200.

Thanks for your assistance. May God reward you and our benefactors abundantly.

Happy Lenten season

God bless you!

Ave Maria!

Dear Patti,

Hearty thanks for the newly arrived forex box. It always brings me much joy to receive such a bountiful gift. I'm thankful to GOD for using me to bring others closer and back to him.

As of now I’m busy preparing for series of retreat for our youth her in our center. I will invite them all to join us in praying the Rosary. This is a kind of apostolate that I really love and thanks GOD for giving me such tremendous opportunity to serve our youth. Please help me pray that all will go well for the glory of GOD's name.

That in all things He may be glorified!

Dear Madam

I am sending you some documentation of the Universal Living Rosary Association of Saint Philomena (ULRA) activities in our school. The Rosary Month last October 2008 was spearheaded by the ULRA officers and members and faculty members too.

The other photos were captured inside the classrooms of the college students - they are education students.

With me in the photos are my secretary and some student leaders in college.

There are other photos to follow: distribution of rosaries during the University Faculty Association Meeting - almost 500 plus members; distribution of rosaries to the special group abused children - raped victims and others; and other photos in various occasions like the prayer group of the OCDS.

Our Father Chaplain received one complete set of cassock and the other two will be given to Father Erasmus Soriano. Pictures included are of us October our as activities here in our schools.

Dear Mrs. Patti and all the members of the Universal Living Rosary Association of Saint Philomena,

Praised be Lord Jesus Christ and Our Mother Mary. I take this time to wish you all the blessings of God in this Lenten Season. Let this period be to us all a period of interior conversion of hearts and return to God and at the service of our neighbors and be ready to take them to eternal salvation. It is through our cooperation with Our Mother that all exercises will be fruitful to us and to the neighbor. Let us continue to thank God for the many blessing that has been granting us. Let us continue to offer our daily prayers especially the daily decade to pray for the conversion of sinners, for the relief of the sick, refugees and the oppressed, for dead and for those dying that they may receive the mercy of God. May God bless us all.

Many Greetings from Kipalapala Seminary.

I kindly continue to remind of the help with the religious articles.

Dear Patti

Thanks for the parcel. I received it on Monday 23 February 2009. I noticed that I should have got the parcel last year but I think it was due to our postal system. But I praise the Lord God because finally I got the items. People have been asking about joining the Universal Living Rosary Association of Saint Philomena and what became of our names, have you registered us? I could only encourage them to say their decades everyday and we were very hopeful that the cards and Rosaries will come some day. I got Rosaries, medals, calendars and two bottles holy oil, two St Philomena codes, a lot of reading materials (books and prayer cards), our dear Mother's and Philomena's pictures. I am still writing out cards for the first 3 lists that I already had. I hope to distribute the cards, rosaries and medals on Sunday 1 March 2009 and will communicate with you on their starting dates.

I pray that God will give me the power to continue with his work.

May St Philomena continue guiding you to do her work for the love of Jesus especially during this period of Lent.

May the good lord continue guiding you in your work.

Best regards

The late David Haynes will be remembered in my prayers.

I thank you very much for the personal letter and the February stipend which I received yesterday. I greatly appreciate that you included my letter with the other testimonies. I find all the ULR booklets and leaflets very interesting and helpful. You truly have a great mission in bringing the Lord and the Blessed Mother to the world.

I gave the rosaries, scapulars and the miraculous medals to the Sisters of Mother Teresa for distribution in Gaza and in Jordan. I asked the Mother Teresa's sister in Amman, Jordan to contact you directly.

Be assured of my prayers for you and all your employees, workers and members, both living and decease in the daily Mass and at the Way of the Cross along the Via Dolorosa every Friday.

Prayerful best wishes,

Dear Patti,

Greetings from Wau, thank you very much for all the time Emanuel has been with us, he has been faithful and fulfill all that he has to do. He left for the last mission in the diocese, 80kms east of here, God is good, he is safe because he met a planned attack of worrisome Dinka groups thus he will only meet with few of the people he had been called to met by the parish priest of Kuajok!

Pray for us also we have the problem of inter-ethnic fighting that are out-dated and non-Christian, Emma always tries to strengthen the voice of the clergy, to have a stop but it’s a slow process, ethnic groups that depend on cattle are not settled. We also heard that the Dinka who were brought through USA during the height of the fighting here in the 90s are steadily deported because of the violence they gear wherever they happen to be.

Emma told us that he will be leaving for Rumbeck possibly on Thursday; we will miss his kind guidance!

Oh! How kind you people are, you have decided to reach those suffering souls in N.E Congo!!!!!! God bless you, Before he left for where he is, Emma consulted whether there are flights from Wau to Yambio( its nearer but no roads) from where he wishes to deliver MM for the suffering of Congo, unfortunately none originate from here, thus he was helped to find out with Rumbeck where only small chattered planes fly to the direction. He was happy and went happy anxious to come back here and go to save a generation from the ruthless Kony rebels by delivering.

We had a call this morning and briefed that he is safe!

Thanks for your work here once again.

Greet you from suffering zone of us, have you follow our situation here in N.E Congo, today everyone that they see and hear what went on in on village is so tortured, At dawn rebels attack village, rape and killed 4 Mothers and girls 14 girls! One mother pregnant was cut with knife and the semi-baby carry in basket by their captive Congolese boy! Boys taken and we don’t know to see them again. The language these people talk is not our Lingala language, according to miracle escapes! The soldiers from South Sudan, Uganda and ours are doing nothing to stop this, they in drinking and also raping. One girl with small medal of Isdore Bakanja saved from rapist who miracle passed her! So that is why we wait so much for Emma's protection from you, we sent him message to find when he will be at border but he has not replied may be he still in rural place that he informed, have you connected with him or he sick? We put all weight of us to you,

We can’t write all happening ruthless things because we fear to be rounded up.

We pray you every day, we now go to pray and disperse into forest and near UN compounds for night safety.

Mother Mary helps you

Dear Patti,

Today, the packet arrived finally!

A million thanks for the wonderful contents in the packet . Daniela and I are so elated by your very kind words, full of wisdom and encouragement. They come from a heart which is so Catholic ,full of charity and love of God and love for one's neighbour. May God reward you a hundred, even a thousand- fold for these.

We think of you in our daily prayers, especially when reciting our decades, and during Holy Masses as well.

Do you have a first class relic of St Philomena in your Shrine in Dickinson, like the one with Fr T Hopkins in FL?

Most Dear Mrs. Patti Melvin

Prayerful Greetings from Fr Tajo, Rome

I am in receipt of the packet which you had sent through the kind hands of Marilena Testatonda and I'm surprised to see the pictures, prayers, and other sacred objects. Thank you so much.

Now I am doing my doctoral studies at Pontifical Oriental Institute. And presently I found my residence with the Oblates of Virgin Mary (OMV) in Rome. Many priests from overseas stay here and I do their studies in Rome. I have explained to them about 'Universal Living Rosary Association of St. Philomena' and I distributed some of the devotional materials to them. They were much pleased to hear about the association and promised that they will do whatever they can in the future. But being a student priest, I am not much engaged in pastoral activities here. After two years, I will go back to North India (Satna Diocese) and I will be continuing my teaching carrier in the Theological College (Seminary) along with the duties of tribunal and the chancellery. I will be teaching the seminarians – the future pastors, and they are the one who can do much for the spread of Rosary in the parish and houses. So they should me motivated well before becoming a priest. As far as I understand, this will certainly do much. I will introduce this association to the priests of my diocese and to the seminarians studying for different diocese in our seminary. I promise my dedication to the association and I will do whatever I can do for the organization. I will try my best to spread the power of the Rosary amidst the catholic faithful in North India, especially in the diocese of Satna.

I join with your efforts to spread Our Lady's living Rosary. Thank you for assigning me with the decade of Coronation. I will meditate and pray with the intentions assigned to me. I will assure my prayers for you, for the association and for all its members.

AVE MARIA!

With much love in profound prayers

Dear Patti,

I am eager to let you know that St. Philomena is making many miracles here in Lesotho. They are so numerous that I can't write them all down. And most of the time people tell me when I meet tem and when I arrive at home I have forgotten them.

One sister just told me now that she does not go to the doctor anymore, that St. Philomena is her reliable doctor. She told me that when she feels sick, she the picture of St. Philomena put it on her heart bandage it, to keep it in position, and leave it there for a time being. She then tells her to take care of whatever is wrong. In no time she feels well again. When she has some pains she takes the St. Philomena Holy oil that you gave her for free and smear it on the aching part and in time all is well.

One miracle I just have now to-day is that I was in the post office going to collect your small packet. Then I went to the other side where they sell stamps. While I was waiting there a man came behind the counter and asked the lady at the counter whether I am Sister Clara. The lady said oh! Yes she is Sister Clara. The man asked me to go to the other side of the counter and have a little talk... The man told me that last month they were cleaning the store where they store the parcels and he found a parcel written Sister Clara. It has been there since the beginning of 2008.They were going to sent them back to where they come from. He said he just picked it and put it in his apartment, hoping that one day he will meet Sister Clara and hand it over to her. It has been with him for two months and when he saw a sister he thought this might be the owner. He disappeared and came back with a parcel. He handed it to me and asked me not to go to the parcel rack as it will cost me a lot of money to get it. So I thanked him and took it. It comes from you.

Is not that a miracle?

It now rains cats and dogs raining cats and dogs outside. I am going to get wet.

Greetings to all your staff.

Yours in Mary Immaculate.

Dear Patti,

I am hurrying to go to the first Holy Communion catechumen that is waiting for me! Now I have got the information of how to reach Ezo on the border between Congo and Sudan, First, there is no plane to that direction from Wau. I will get it from Rumbeck 264 km south east of Wau, from here a small plane is directed to that area, however, it’s not guarantee because of lots of demand. THE HOPE IS THAT THOSE PEOPLE IN THE DIOCESE OF RUMBECK HAVE INFLUENCE WITH THE AIR-CRAFT MANAGEMENT. I have contacted them and have told me that if I can earlier confirm with them of my travel day, they will help me fixed on the congested flights to one of the most communication hit areas of Sudan!

I don’t know the size you are sending, because according what I read; the desperate Congolese need a lot of Miraculous Medals.

I am told: RETURN flight RUMBECK to TUMBURA (the nearest airip is $400, then Tumbura to Ezo will be with the ramschacled minibus and it’s approximately (200 Sudanese pounds) or $100 return.

So for me I am available, when you are ready you tell me I do all the contacts of when to travel and meet them.

God bless

Dear Patti,

I'm just receiving your thank you note for my donation and it makes me a great joy because it is very very rare that someone thanks for a kindness.

I would like to say you that since I discovered the Universal Living Rosary Association of Saint Philomena (ULRA) I came back to the practice of recitation of the Rosary. Now it is a regular practice that gives me great consolations.

Yours sincerely!

Dearest Director Patti,

May God be praised in everything we do...

I just want to ask if you already received the registration sheets, list of the Rosary groups I sent last January. I made photo copies of all the forms as my file so don't be bothered to send them back to me.

I also used the Rosary group number that you previously sent in distributing the Rosaries you have sent in forex since the first package contain Rosaries only for 7 groups that is 105 pieces. I have no more registration card for the remaining Rosaries that I have. I will be very happy if you will send me. I'll be travelling again bound for Mindanao and Visayas starting April 16 for a vocation campaign bringing with me the rosaries & promoting ULRA and devotion to St. Philomena.

May I also ask from your kind and generous heart scapulars to be shared? I understand that you also need donors to finance your marvelous activity. It is my desire to share even just a little but I really have nothing. I hope I will find another generous soul to help you. I commit myself to pray that may God will take care of your needs.

I hope I will have time to visit Teresita aller in Bantayan Island, Cebu Philippines. I didn’t have any communication with her yet.

Thank you so much and best regards to your whole family.

Dear Patti,

Amid crisis we overwhelm by your message, it encourage us that we are to live God willing. Last night claim 16 body of people and were all hack to death with machetes, many were boys and girls raped first. We in midst of nowhere to go, we surrounded by soldiers from Congo , Uganda and Congolese but they done little instead of protect much they involved in looting us property we have been with! Thank you for prayer and everyone is happy for communication, but situation bad, now I write but hear heavy gun fire, people not safe.

Now we thank Francis in Goma, far away from here, he provide e-mail for Emma and we write him to tell him of how we need also help as he did them in Goma, we in middle of death,, rebels claim to commit genocide in future if combined force stops not fight with them.
Thank you tell us that Emma is in Sudan still, this is what we want because he can send us medals even if they are 30,000 , the need much and protection from evil!

I write but mind not settled, I am hearing now that a village was attack in the early morning, and this is where my grandmother stays, but much can’t I work. I leave to God.

Tell you we are helpless, asked one of aid group said that they all can’t bring us the cargo, route too dangerous, however, another one told that there is chattered plane from near Congo/ Sudan boarder to Dungu here in forest, anyone before jump on plane pays $200 when going and $200 when coming without luggage?? We do kindly ask you and helpers to born us because we are in death, as you save the people of Goma with some peace now, help us. We send not to Emmanuel to assist us before going out of Sudan and go to the border at place called Ezo and send us medals, we cry to you , help us we die, Oh! Another heavy gun. Let me run away will come back later when things better.

Dear Patti,

Oh! We only have thanks notes to you for your role in helping us come out of our greediness and war trauma. Emma is doing us good, he loves people many have learnt and we are pruning ourselves of the pride and militaristic behavior that have grown up with us since we came to understand because we have grown up in war where normal life was absent! But we thank you for your motherly way because he tells us everything, from behaviors to respect of Church and the elders, from cleanliness of body and heart to love of neighbor! He crowns all these with one thing; LOVE for the Mother of God by exciting the daily decade so that we get the meaning of true life!

We can’t hold our tears to say that He will be leaving at the start of March! Surely we needed him more; I tell you Patti; frankly none in our diocese including priests can explain about Mother Mary in relation with the daily life and mingled with the Rosary.

God bless you,
Louis

Greet you dear director of Rosaire Vivant,

Thanks you for much work do for humanity, we sure you will be reward by god for help of human people that are far from the reality of god and those suffering.

I am writing from the NE part of Congo where we suffer at hands of rebel Kony who stripe us of life! You hear the news from there in Dungu diocese where on Christmas we survived when rebels attack us in Church for mass; many some of us escape but with God’s help.

Uganda, South Sudan and Congo forces move to clear our area of rebels but they miscalculate and that is why many us killed, rebels from Uganda split into small but dangerous groups that go on slashing g us,
On Christmas day, 400 were split up and brain fell on ground in church, entire families wipe out and on that day we all went off in dense forests where also others were cached up and raped or killed! We tell you some of people escape towards the Sudan \Congo boarder where they meet one of your workers who give Rosary and medals and some literature which gave this e-mail.

Today we hear from UN that a group attach village but the number killed today is good because 10 we are told, every day more than 50 die. We in trouble.

We hear from Goma that they a bit better for they get medals for protection, the situation there better now but us we are the worst in danger, a staff worker of UN tell that he see so many people in Goma 1700km south of here are not missing the medal, and sure we saw a miracle of some who get the medal in I\one camp near 700 S.E on Sudan boarder, of two girls that told that they escaped the rebels harming because they had medals on neck from Sudan.

Anita and Tereza were from well near forest with two other friends, and then abrupt rebel from hiding jumped on them by force! The other two were taken and raped then killed while they managed to get away over-powered and run, its miracle! Not guns but mother Mary to protect us! We are use to dead bodies, on Sunday 35 were killed, its revenge and even Uganda, South Sudan and Congo force havoc so we are not safe.

Dear director, save us as you saved the Goma people, we now cut off even to the Sudan side, rebel now so active and continue havoc, can you dear director save us with some medals so that we protect ourselves from extinction by rebels??? Should we rely on you. We are in forests. We are upset,
pray for us.

Dear Mother Patti,

Greetings from Sankera, Nigeria.

I want to express my profound gratitude to you for the parcel I received through post on the 9th of February, 2009. I was on my way to the annual assembly of the Holy Ghost Fathers and Brothers in Makurdi Region when I got your parcel. It was filled up with a lot of sacramentals, books and audio cassettes.

I came back to school after the assembly and shared the story with my children. They were so grateful and asked that I convey their gratitude to you. The batteries of all my cameras had ran down so I could not write to you with pictures immediately. We managed to snap yesterday with an older camera which was not so great. My students have gone on midterm break today being February 18 and they will come back on Sunday, 22 February. I will now have a few days to attend to my spoiled car that was left in Makurdi after the assembly. Makurdi, which is our state capital, is about two hours drive from here. I shared the story of your wonderful work with a bottom friend of mine, Fr Richard Awange, CSSp, he is a novice master and he specializes in directing retreats. He may be writing to you at his convenience. We were classmates in the seminary and we have promised to make the best use of our priesthood to serve God and humanity.

Attached to this letter are two pictures. One of them is that of Junior Secondary School One students at the school. The second one is that of the two youngest students in the school.

I did say a special Mass for the blessing of the sacramentals yesterday before they were distributed and you were specially remembered and prayed for. The pictures are not bright but by God's grace we shall be sending you with brighter ones sooner than later.

Dear Patti

I just have to share this:

About an hour ago I missed death by a whisker. This is what happened in 30 seconds...we were in a minibus (35 passengers) and we were about to cross an intersection...rail/road when our minibus' engine stopped. We were right on top of a railway line and our driver jumped out in panic because a goods train was fast approaching. When our driver realized that the train was still a few meters away he jumped back into our minibus and drove us away to safety. Less than 10 seconds later the goods train drove past the spot where we were stuck. Some passengers were hurt during the stampede whilst trying to disembark our minibus...one passenger was taken to hospital. I sat in the minibus during the entire drama. Our Lady of Mount Carmel knows why I did not panic. I thank her for driving us to safety....and I thank her for saving our lives. I was wearing my Brown Scapular, Miraculous Medal and a Holy Face Medal.

Our Lady Of Mount Carmel, Pray for us.

Dear Patti,

Father Gabriel Amorth, and Chief Exorcist of the Vatican writes:

One day a colleague of mine heard the devil say during an exorcism, 'Every Hail Mary is like a blow on my head. If Christians knew how powerful the Rosary was, it would be my end.'

The secret that makes this prayer so effective is that the Rosary is both prayer and meditation. It is addressed to the Father, to the Blessed Virgin, and to the Holy Trinity, and is a meditation centered on Christ. I write in addition to the above: Please enunciate each word of the Rosary clearly and distinctly. Do not trample on the heels of the words of anyone with your words.

Do not speak over the leader if you are following or the respondent if you are leading the Rosary. Remember that they also are having a conversation with Mary Our Mother and it is not polite to speak when someone else is speaking.

In the case of the public Rosary there are only two people speaking: the Leader and the respondents. Each is speaking to the Blessed Mother and listening carefully to her response within their hearts as they meditate on the scene before them in their consideration of the mystery being spoken of and interpreted and translated into their lives.

Spread this powerful prayer of exorcism, the Rosary, which contains the Our Father, the Perfect Prayer, prayed five times in the recitation of each set of the Rosary's Mysteries, backed up by the powerful prayers of Our Mother who prays with us as we pray 53 Hail Mary's.

The Eternal Father described to a group of us, through a Visionary Friend of mine, what happens when we pray the Rosary, saying, 'When you pray Holy Mary Mother of God, pray for us sinners now..., the Blessed Mother comes instantly to your side to pray with you. And she does not come alone. She brings angels with her. And not just one or two for she is the Queen of Angels, so choirs of angels come with her. And she and Jesus are joined at the heart and cannot be separated so she brings Jesus with her. And Jesus cannot be separated from the Trinity so He brings the Father and the Holy Spirit with Him. And where the Holy Trinity is, all of creation is, and you are surrounded by such beauty and light as you cannot imagine in this life.

Your Mother comes as Our Lady of Grace with her hands outstretched. Rays of light emit from her hands piercing your body, healing you and filling you with graces. This is your inheritance which was poured out from the heart of Jesus on the Cross, when the centurion pierced His Heart with the spear, into the only pure vessel ready to receive such graces at that time, Your Mother.

Now as you pray the Rosary, or even just recite one Hail Mary, you receive your portion of these graces. He also said at this time, 'Anyone who goes to Mary and prays the Rosary cannot be touched by Satan.'

Is it any wonder that anyone who prays the Rosary from the heart is so blessed and protected and powerful in their prayers for others?

Dear Mrs. Patti Melvin and all the Members of Living Rosary International.

Today I would like to share with you about the life and mission work of Universal Living Rosary Association of Saint Philomena in Ukraine. Ukraine is in very severe economical situation. Many companies are closed and the rate of unemployment is growing very fast. Few months ago the situation was different and the people were thinking that life is going to be ok but now Ukraine is in very difficult economical situation.

First of all because Ukraine has a lot of plants which produce the steel and iron. These plants are located in Eastern part of Ukraine and the people who were working there had very good and high salaries but now the foreign countries don’t buy the steel and these iron companies fire the people. Also it was very popular in Ukraine to take the loans and buy the different goods and materials most of the goods come from outside of Ukraine and now when the banks don’t give the loans and people must give the credits back but don’t have the money.

The situation is almost the same like in USA but USA is more powerful and it has more money and power. The people were putting their hopes on the economical development now feel that the money and economical power don’t make them happy. They feel that there are not the safest place where to save their money and to live happily and many of the reevaluate their lives and try to come back to God.

We can see it when the center of Living Rosary is getting more phone calls and petition for enrolling to Living Rosary and prayer petition to pray for solving the financial difficulties. Other very complicated situation is with the Russian gas which became very expensive and more and more people need to pay very high bills for the gas. The petrol is getting more expensive as well because the average Ukrainian citizen must pay for the gallon of gas almost 4 dollars but the labor costs are very cheap. The average salary in Ukraine is 150 dollars per month.

This helps us the Living Rosary center to publish cheep publishing materials and distribute the newspapers and other books around Ukraine. We publish a lot of prayer books and information materials to new members of Living Rosary and they are waiting for them. This month the new edition of newspaper - the Voice of Living Rosary was published later because the complicated economical situation - the cost of the paper is getting more expensive the center of Living Rosary received so many phone calls with the request to publish new edition of the newspaper. Finally we published the new edition a week ago and the people are so happy. This month we were able to publish 10,000 copies of the newspaper and more and more people become the members of Living Rosary after the reading of this newspaper.

Other very important achievement was made by launching the web site which visited almost 1,200 visitors last month. We pay attention how many people visit the web page and what they browse and then make very important changes and improvements to the web page. Now the visitors of the web page are able to become the members of Living Rosary via web page, to ask the priests and physiologist some questions about marriage and children behavior.

If the people are willing to receive the annulment and solve the problems with the marriage we can give them some advises. There are many families which were made during the Soviet Union time and now husband or wife is willing to receive the Holy Communion or receive the Holy Sacramental’s but they don’t have the marriage blessing because other partner don’t want to get the blessing of the church and the visitors of our web page are able to find a support and tips how to solve all these problems.

There are three priests and physiologist who are answering all the questions and help the people. Also we are looking forward to advertise more widely about our web page and attract more people to Living Rosary. Many migrants from Spain, Italy, Serbia, Germany and other foreign countries come to our web page and receive the spiritual nourishment and support. It takes some time to make the improvements and changes but we hope that our members will be able to appreciate it. Also the Living Rosary launched the phone hot line in which we receive many phone calls and requests concerning of the enrollment and prayer requests which we accomplish. All these steps give us the possibility to enroll every month almost from 600 - 1000 new members in Ukraine.

This mission is very vital and important and we hope that all our members and staff of Living Rosary International will support our ideas and goals because we are the part of the International Living Rosary Organization which has the center in Dickinson Texas. We can accomplish all these goals by the unity with God, Virgin Mary, saints - Holy Catholic Church and with the material and information unity with Mrs. Patti Melvin and the center of Living Rosary in Dickinson.

May God bless you and protect you. We feel that this economical crisis is very important in order to help the people to change their priorities and rely upon God not on money and power of the world with the prayers and respect the members of Living Rosary Ukraine.

Dear Mrs. Melvin,

Sorry, I was busy in the arrangements of 3rd annual Rosary Conference that I wrote you is to be held on 19th to 21st of this month. I prepared the newsletter also. Today, I have returned from Karachi and on the way I went to Sukkur also.

I reached Sukkur on 7th night in a very miserable condition. It was because as I started preparing to leave for railway station on 7th (the train time was 3:00 p. m.), all of a sudden I got abdominal pain with diarrhea. I took some medicine but I could not get any relief. I left home at about 2:15 p.m. The train started its journey and I started going to washroom again and again. I got high fever, vomiting also. I got upper berth and at one time when I tried to get down from the berth, my foot slipped, my leg turned and muscle was pulled so severely that I lost my conscious. The passengers there pulled me immediately and gave a seat. The more surprising thing is that when I got near Rohri station, I went to washroom for the last time and upon reaching there I was feeling fresh (I had a lot of weakness due to diarrhea and vomiting but otherwise I was OK). I had reached at 2:00 a.m., stayed there for Sunday and Monday and went to Karachi on Monday night, stayed there for whole day and got train in the evening to return back.

It shows that satan is trying with his full efforts to stop spreading the Rosary Message and making Rosary Army. But it is with the courage of Our Lady of Lourdes and Our Patroness St. Philomena's protection not even I but each of us is saved from his hands.
OK, Good Bye and God Bless You all, Yours in Christ and Holy Mother,

Dear Patti,

Hello!! Happy feast day! We celebrated the feast day of Our Lady of Lourdes. We held a healing mass for all kind of sickness to all sick people in the hospital at home and elsewhere.

Praise God! St. Philomena really a wonder worker. Problems, sickness in all walks of life, really experienced and observed in the community.

Comments of most of our people in community really accepted that the living Rosary St. Philomena devotion really worked. Whenever typhoons, calamities were expected to hit the area of the Philippine archipelago. Thanks to St. Philomena and Mother Mary are there to protect us

Active participation in religious activities such as a one month October dawn Rosary devotion, every first Saturday dawn Rosary devotion, almost all of the people young and adult were there attending religiously.

One afternoon, we and my group went to one of our City chapel to attend the Living Rosary; a woman met us that she has a sick daughter whose sickness could not be diagnosed by almost all of the doctors in our community. So no medicine given to her sick daughter. Almost a year her daughter could not ate solid foods, so she was so thin and so pity. So we provide a Rosary beads, St. Philomena oil & cord, booklet prayer and other religious reading books and dedicated decade booklets to the family.

A family was a mixed marriage; a husband is a catholic and a wife a protestant. The wife converted to be catholic but they could not follow the procedure of how to say the holy Rosary. So we pray with them to lead the holy Rosary and a novena of St. Philomena. Then we anointed the sick daughter with St. Philomena oil and putting the cord around her body. We advice that every after their prayer of the dedicated decades and a prayer of St. Philomena, they anointed their sick daughter with St. Philomena oil. After a few weeks, we visited again the family. The parents were very happy as we get inside in their house, she said; I have very good news to every one of you. My daughter asked me to give her a solid food because she feels very hungry...

We exclaimed! Hail to St. Philomena! Go for the Triumph!
Thanks to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus and Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Dear Patti,

Greetings from Australia. It is my wish and prayer that you are doing fine. Me too. I am writing to inform about the bushfires still going on in Victoria. It was as hot as it has ever been since records began to be kept in some 150 years. The temperature soared to 46.5 degrees which I think equates to about 120 degrees or there about in the old language. The "cool change" that arrived late Saturday prevailed both Sunday & Monday with little or no rainfall when it was & where it was needed most (In the entire State of Victoria). In the meantime there are still very active fires raging that have still not been brought under control.

The lives lost which had risen to 153 yesterday morning has now reached a figure of 173 with a predictions that there are still many areas that have not been scrutinized & that the death toll could be far, far worse. There are hundreds if not thousands of people stranded with just the clothes on their backs (for 3 days) & NOTHING ELSE! Their homes have been burned down to the ground & with it, everything they possessed. The stories that are unfolding would move the cruelest heart to tears except perhaps the mongrels that were responsible for this catastrophe. Some of them are alleged to have re ignited the fires that were brought under control in spite of all the devastation that was prevailing.

It is being recognized as the worst: peace time: disaster in the history of this Country & would have to be when considering that picturesque towns such as Narbethong & Marysville do not exist anymore. The carnage & devastation, the human tragedies & sufferings, the cost in terms of the lives of innocent victims & its price (in these very difficult economic times) defy all logic or understanding. At present, there are still 2 or 3 fires that are of some concern & both the Prime Minister & State's Premier have toured some of the affected areas. They have been moved as much as many Melbournians, Victorians & Australians by the extent of the tragedy & suffering of the victims. Perhaps these signs contain a Divine message for us humans amidst society's total disdain for the sanctity of basic human values & reluctance to acknowledge "GOD" in our midst.

Please keep us in your prayers.

Sincerely yours,
Daniel

Dear Patti,

Greetings of Peace, Love and Joy in the Lord!

As the Church celebrates "World Day of the Sick" tomorrow, the feast of Our Lady of Lourdes I would like to congratulate you for the continuous sharing of your fruitful labors to our beloved Philippine Islands particularly in my local province of Pangasinan which is one of the recipients of the graces from you together with your generous companions in the ULRA.

I thank you for the newsletter you sent thru email and saw the brightness of your heart thru your smiles with Sister Emerintia, O.P. I want to congratulate and thank her also for her devotion to the charisma of St. Dominic, to save souls thru praying and spreading the Rosary to all parts of the world.

I had just mailed yesterday lists of names of 480 new members to propagate and devote their love and piety to our Blessed Mother.

I want to tell the world that to serve God thru our Blessed Mother; one will attain the necessary graces he/she needs in this earthly life. I had personally encountered lots of trials, pains and challenges in my religious life and I won't stop working for the glory of God thru devotion of praying the Rosary because just as the grace been attributed to St. Philomena, I agree God will not fail us in whatever we ask.

Again, thank you and more power to the association. We pray that we may not get tired in the service so that when we meet our Lord one day, we'll be welcomed.

Sincerely praying for you,

Sister Josephine Fernandez, O.P.

Dear Patti

Praised be Jesus Christ!

Thanks so much for your package of information and the letter.

My heart and full confidence have always been with you and your wonderful apostolate of spreading the kingdom of God on earth through the powerful intercession of St Philomena and your love for orthodoxy.

I thank you for clarifying the information I read on Fr. Braschi's website regarding his comments about all other propagators of devotion to St Philomena to be null and void. You have, indeed, awakened devotion to St. Philomena in the United States and across the globe and the results are astounding! You keep up the good work, Patti! I still cannot understand all his "fuss" about you? A year or so ago, he wrote me and told me you were not obedient to his guidelines, but the FACTS prove otherwise. You have always been obedient - perhaps to a fault.

As long as you are in obedience to the teaching authority of the Church, the traditions of the Church and to your spiritual director, you cannot possibly be misled nor deceived by the evil one regarding these complicated and mysterious issues. Your obedience to the Church is a guarantee of the guidance and protection of the Holy Ghost!

Keep up the good work. You are a light shining in the darkness!

In St Philomena,

Dear beloved sister Patti,

I am happy to write to you and I am in a parish where about 4,000 catholic families are. My target is to get at least 4,000 persons for the Universal Living Rosary Association of Saint Philomena (ULRA). Even today I introduced that to the Divine Mercy group. Here we have started (people) to hold a novena every Monday in honor of St. Philomena.

Bro. Roche promised me to send a digital camera them it will be easy for me to send photos. Last Monday I addressed a group at St. Andrew's, Colombo-15.

Your box reached me safe. Thank you for your help. Today it is 10th my special mass will be offered for all our ULRA members and promoters, benefactors.

There are lots of new lists I will be sending soon.

Dear Mrs. Patti,

It’s now that I am actually seeing the fruit of our Universal Living Rosary Association of Saint Philomena (ULRA) apostolate in the seminaries. As Claretian missionaries, we have the possibilities of working any where in the world. Now this is Francis in Spain to begin a nice work there. I am sure you must have gotten his address. Fr. Innocent and Fr. Patrick are there in East Africa, We are here now in central Africa and soon we will get more people to work in Congo and other countries. Most of us got to know the ULRA in our seminary days in the Claretian Seminary in Nigeria.

In all these, I can only say thanks be to God. We will try our best to get future priests and missionaries involved in it. In such a way that it spreads naturally all round the world. Our interest is always on the decade.

Mrs. Patti, LET US GET THE WHOLE WORLD ENTANGLED IN THIS CHAIN OF DECADES THROUGH WHICH OUR BLESSED MOTHER AND OUR PATRONNESS WILL LEAD US TO CHRIST JESUS.

I am just so happy today that Francis expressed the desire to handle the Immaculata. It may interest you to know that Francis is not alone. He is there with other promoters I worked with in the Claretian institute of Philosophy: Michael Chima, cmf; Gilles Njobam, cmf. For all these let us say THANKS BE TO GOD.

Immaculate Heart of Mary, Be my salvation.

Who gave the false news to Burundi that Emma is dead? No, we can’t accept him to die now, he still have a lot to do! Even God cannot allow this because he is still so vital. Today he made the prisoners laugh their heads off when he visited the prison where more than 400 of them listened to him, there were applauses for his donation of the Rosary and the explanation he gave in relation to prisoners life, they all accepted that prison life is time of reflection and return to God's ways! Were applauded when he told them that each one is a prisoner, Jesus was a prisoner, and anyone can't escape being a prisoner before death! He enrolled spiritually because he had to adhere by the law of now taking out any prisoner's name. How happy they were clad in rosaries and MM.

Excitingly only two of the prisoners from those he met last May had remained, and even those that had been put in chains waiting for death sentences had miraculously been released! So he assured these ones also to leave prison soon, to the women mothers he encouraged them to breast feed their sixyoung ones born in the prison and also to know that Jesus who was also spent time in exile before Herod's death was with them.

Oh! Later this evening Emma was at St. Mathew Church , telling childish stories to the catechumens, they all loved him as he delivered home the issue of prayer especially imitated the three children of Fatima. Thanks so much, Emma reflects who you are.

Dear Mrs. Patti,

This is to inform you that I've been in touch with this sister for many years in Chennai. She learned Spanish to go to Spain but last minute due to urgency the provincial sent her to Andamans Island. She has been there for a year now like me in Philippines. I asked her to prepare the people all these months about the Rosary since she kept on saying they are crazy and some even faithless etc. Now the people are much open to faith and practice of Christianity including the Catholics for the situation is different there.

So here is her name, city and country, (address to follow):

Sr. Julie Fabiola Fmm
Andamans,
India

She requests now the rosaries having prepared the people for the last eight months.

Please do the needful. I send the sister's address. Andamans is hard to say India. It far away and cut away from India. Only the criminals were sent there as punishment specially the hardcore thugs. So as sister says the situation is pathetic there. I hope our Lady will bring transformation in their life.

Praying for you
Love

Dear Patti,

I have a note that I have met here, thanking Universal Living Rosary Association of Saint Philomena (ULRA) director for the Miraculous Medals (MM) we sent in Darfur some time back, someone translated it for me from Arabic to English. Peter Juma and Angela Justin are so happy that MM is working miracles. Many women are protected from rape by Islamists janjaweed. I can only send the MM but cant visit because the area is controlled by the northern divide would require me another visa and also from advice, I can be easily exterminated by the jankaweed who claim to be fighting a holy war.

Dearest Mamma Patti

I collected two boxes last week, today I have to collect another new box, thank you so much. I have promoters who preach about Saint Philomena on the hospitals and with the sick persons. We have many miracles healing with the intercession of our lovely Saint Philomena. I have one healing of cancer women who took her oil and cord since two years. Now I met with her husband who announced to me her healing through Saint Philomena. My helpers began to put her photos on the Christian hospitals here. So I need more the big photos of Saint Philomena. I ask you dear mother if some member or benefactor can help me in sending me a camera digital. So I can more easily and with fast. I can send the photos. I keep you all in my prayers; I send you my love and gratitude.

Ave Maria.

Patti,

I am very sorry for my inability to keep in touch with you since I arrived in Nigeria. The reason is that I was knocked down by malaria and typhoid fever shortly on arrival and I was admitted in the hospital for a period of one week. Shortly after recovering from my own sickness I had to make arrangement for my mother's eye operation which was carried out successfully last week. Right now, she is recovering and I am doing the best I can to make sure she is o.k. before I return to Peru in the first week of next month.

However, I owe the recovery of my mother's sight to your generosity and kindness. And thanks for coming to my aid at a time when I have lost all hope. It is my prayer that the lord who is able to do much more than we can ever ask or imagine bless and reward you abundantly now and always. I told my mother about you and about the financial assistance you have rendered towards making sure that her eye operation was carried out and she was very happy and she ask me to express her gratitude and appreciation to you on her behalf. She is praying daily for you. May the lord bless you once more as I remain ever grateful to you.

Ave!

We would like to thank you sincerely for the newspaper of Universal Living Rosary Association "The Voice of Living Rosary" which brings a lot of spiritual fruits to our souls. The Contemporary world is over pack with the anger and evil. The fruits of the sin grow everywhere and capture the souls of the youth. It is so painful to see how the souls of youth are full of the anger and evil, they learn life on the example of the western movies which teach how to kill and hate. They learn how to love each other on the example of the different immoral movies. The newspapers and TV programs teach our children how to loose their purity and souls and to undertake the spiritual death. This is why we are so happy to have the newspaper which is published for the members of Living Rosary Association in order to feed yourself and to receive the best spiritual nourishment and support. The newspaper of Living Rosary helped us to learn about the Universal Living Rosary Association. This organization was founded in the walls of our school #24 which is located in the city Ivano – Frankivsk. Many teachers, children and parents joined this wonderful organization. The teachers and children gather every day in the chapel of the school in order to pray our Dedicated Decades and deep our spirituality to Virgin Mary and saint Philomena. We are convinced that Virgin Mary is true mother of the children’s soul and therefore we are so happy that Living Rosary helps us with the brining rosaries, sacramentals, and the newspaper of Living Rosary. We take our rosaries to our hands and glorify Virgin Mary, ask many blessings and graces for our city, country by the intercession of saint Philomena who gave us the great example for the youth and all the people who believe in God. The devotion to Living Rosary makes our faith stronger, helps us to conduct pure and modest life. We thank you Living Rosary for everything which you are doing every day for us and our salvation!
